  • 2017-2019 Research end expert mandate for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on renewable energy heating and cooling systems for mid-size cities in China
  • 2017-2020 Advisory Mandate for the Government of German State Saxony-Anhalt and its ‘Competence Center for Urban Redevelopment’
  • 2019 Advisory Mandate for the German Federal Maritime Agency (Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie) on Methods and Models for the Assessment of Cumulative Effects of Offshore Wind Energy in the North Sea
  • 2018 Management support of the Business Declaration on ambitous climate action by the Stiftung Klimawirtschaft
  • 2013-2017 Developed and managed the Regenerative Cities Programme in China by the WFC: The magnificent scale of cities and rapid urbanization in China make sustainable development a priority that not only concerns Chinese policy-makers, but also draws attention from the entire world.
  • 2011-2017 Developed and lead the Future of Cities Forum, a conference series on the Future of Cities founded by the WFC with annual high-level gatherings in different parts of the world including India, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Uganda, China and others.
  • 2008-2014 Established and lead the International Expert Commission on Cities and Climate Change: An international group of 40 climate experts, renowned architects, urban planners and policymakers that met every six month in Hamburg (invited by the Mayor of Hamburg). This resulted in the concept of 'regenerative city' which has become subject to official UN language
